The NSW Government has stripped raw milk marketed as ‘cosmetic’ or ‘bath’ milk from the shelves of a number of Sydney health food shops following recent inspections.
As part of ongoing actions to address the sale of raw milk, the NSW Food Authority has enacted a range of proactive monitoring and compliance activities, which included the seizure of approximately 68 litres of unpasteurised dairy products in the Sydney area.

NSW Premier and Minister for Western Sydney Mike Baird today announced more than 1,800 public servants are set to move to Parramatta, in a major jobs boost for Western Sydney.
Under the plan, all Department of Education staff currently working in the Sydney CBD will move to offices at Parramatta.

The Korea Development Bank (KDB) has opened its first Australian office in Sydney today.
As Korea’s representative state-run financial institution responsible for policy-based financing, the bank will be providing financial advisory services to Korean companies looking to invest in Sydney.
The bank’s Sydney office is also expected to focus on infrastructure construction projects as well as opportunities presented through privatisation of NSW Government assets.
KDB has participated in the privatisation of Port Botany and has indicated it is looking at other projects, including electricity.
Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Victor Dominello today announced further changes to the state’s workers compensation regulations, which boosts benefits for injured workers to assist in their recovery and return to work.

The Parliament last night passed the Australian Citizenship Amendment (Allegiance to Australia) Bill 2015 which updates and modernises a long standing provision of Australian law to reflect the new age of terrorism.
The legislation will strip Australian citizenship from dual citizens who are involved in terrorist conduct overseas or convicted of a terrorism offence in Australia.
It will also ensure terrorists who are dual nationals are prevented from returning to Australia and dual nationals who engage in terrorism within Australia can be removed where possible.

NSW Treasurer Gladys Berejiklian today welcomed figures confirming that NSW had the highest retail sales growth of the mainland states in October.
Today’s ABS figures show retail trade in NSW was up by 0.8 per cent in October, above the national average of 0.5 per cent.
“Since the beginning of the year, retail sales have risen by 5.3 per cent compared to a year ago – the highest result among the states,” Ms Berejiklian said.

The powerful contribution Australian exporters are making to economic growth has been further highlighted in the latest figures released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Minister for Trade and Investment Andrew Robb said.
Mr Robb said the figures show that net exports are expected to contribute a healthy 1.5 per centage points to real GDP growth in the September quarter.

Health Minister Jillian Skinner has hailed the success of the state’s HIV strategies as new figures show a strong increase in testing and treatment and a steady decline in new HIV diagnoses.
