A new multi-million dollar Transport Technology Centre will provide a boost to training and career opportunities for students in Western Sydney, Minister for Skills John Barilaro announced today.
Mr Barilaro said the 21st century facility at Wetherill Park is an example of how students and industry can build a modern learning environment for the future.
“Western Sydney will be home to the largest training facility of its kind that offers a blended learning environment to build the skilled workforce of the future,” Mr Barilaro said.
“Students and industry partners will benefit from the enhanced training opportunities with features including Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the classrooms, workshops and common areas.
“The new technology will allow over 1, 000 students to be engaged in workshop projects and activities rather than in a traditional classroom delivery approach,” Mr Barilaro said.
From Semester 1 2016 the enhanced light and ventilation, LED lighting and the harvesting of rainwater to reduce the impact on the environment.
The Transport Technology Centre at TAFE South Western Sydney Institute will meet an expected increase in demand for courses in light vehicle technology, heavy vehicle mechanical technology, plant mechanics, automotive electrical technology, and engineering technology courses.
