NSW is the nation’s strongest economy and has held the number one spot for a fifth consecutive quarter, CommSec’s State of the States reveals.
Treasurer Gladys Berejiklian has welcomed the results of the quarterly report, which focuses on key economic indicators such as retail spending and housing construction.
“This is an exciting time: we have a strong budget, a strong economy and our state is in a period of transformation as we deliver on our promise to rebuild NSW,” Ms Berejiklian said.
NSW has remained in first place for dwelling starts, retail trade and population growth.
Since the last quarter, NSW has moved two spots up the list to first place for housing finance.
CommSec noted that NSW is the premier economic state and it has solid momentum.
“NSW truly is the best place to live, work and do business – but we are determined to keep working hard so it can be even better,” Ms Berejiklian said.
The State of the States report is the latest in a spate of positive economic news for NSW.
