NSW Labor today extends its best wishes to grandparents across NSW on the occasion of this year’s Grandparents Day.
This year, Grandparents Day is being celebrated on Sunday 25 October. Grandparents Day recognises the important contribution which grandparents make to the lives of children, families and the wider community.
Grandparents play an important and often underappreciated role providing care for children and supporting family life.
Almost one million children in Australia receive regular care from a grandparent on a regular basis, according to statistics from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Grandparents Day is coordinated by the Council on the Ageing NSW (COTA NSW). Information about Grandparents Day, including local events, is available at www.grandparentsday.org.au
