The NSW Government will provide additional bus services for customers around Zetland and Rosebery following feedback on the new CBD bus network.

Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance said the extra services will begin from today (Monday 2 November) serving the broader Green Square precinct.

“Since the new bus network was introduced last month, we have been reviewing the impacts and tweaking how the network operates,” Mr Constance said.

“In response to customer demand, additional services for bus routes M20 and 343 will be introduced as well as some minor bus stop and route alterations across the CBD.

“We want Sydneysiders to know that we are continuing to monitor the changes and we are accommodating any adjustments that need to be made.”

During the weekday morning peak period, four additional services will be provided on routes M20 and 343:

  • two additional trips on route M20 between Joynton Avenue, Zetland and Wynyard Station, at approximately 7:58 and 8:20am
  • two additional trips on route 343 between Crewe Place, Rosebery and Martin Place, at approximately 7:15 and 9:22am

During the weekday afternoon peak period, two additional services will be provided on route 343 between Martin Place and Kingsford, departing at 6:27pm and 6:47pm.

After the first few weeks of operation of the new CBD bus network, a small number of minor changes have been introduced on a trial basis to improve bus operations, traffic flow and the customer experience.

These minor bus stop and route alterations currently being trialled will be introduced from Monday 2 November:

  • Routes 412, 413, 423, L23, 426, 428 and L28 will be altered to operate via Pitt, Goulburn and Elizabeth Streets on all inbound services to the City, and via Castlereagh, Goulburn and Pitt Streets on all outbound services.  This change will also mean a new stop will be installed at Pitt Street before Hay Street for these services travelling into the city.
  • The bus stop at Town Hall Station, Druitt Street at Kent Street (Stand M) will be closed, with all outbound Victoria Road buses departing from Druitt Street at Sussex Street (Stand L).
  • At Central Station, Eddy Avenue, route M10 will be relocated to stop at Stand C and route M30 will be relocated stop at Stand B.
  • At Martin Place, the existing bus stops used by inbound bus services will be combined and become one large stop.
