Australia India Business Trade foundation launched

 Australia India Business Trade foundation was launched on 26th

November 2020.  AIBTF is an organization to empower and promote

collaboration and connections between  businesses in Australia and

India. With mission to develop valuable partnerships with key trade and

investment stockholders from India and Australia, AIBTF hopes to be a

platform where businesses are can collaborate and leverage synergies of

networking.

 

        Its first event was held in the hills at The Madison , Dural. A

full house with a gathering of over 150 businesses attended this event.

Some of the dignitaries that attended this event included Hon Alex Hawke

(Minister for international development and Foreign affairs since 2019),

Hon David Elliott (NSW minister for Police and Emergency services) , His

excellency Consul - General of India - Mr Manish Gupta, and His

excellency Consulate general of Malta - Lawrence.

 

        Starting with lamp lighting and national anthems the evening

went on to continue with a brief shared by Rahul Jethi (President AIBTF)

giving an overview on the organizations mission and vision as well as

opportunities and importance of trade collaboration between the two

countries. He explained AIBTF is dedicated to promoting collaboration

and connections between Australia and India through networking, exchange

of ideas, and knowledge. Expression to join the organization and become

members were welcomed from high calibre business persons &

professionals, but membership to AIBTF remains strictly by invitation

only.

 

 

    Chief Guest of the event Hon Alex Hawke emphasised on the growing

relationship of Australia India and work done by Morrison government .

He also mentioned Quad, Malabar exercise and growing defence co

operation too.

    CGof India Manish Gupta was very happy to note that there is lot of

effort from both sides to come closer and do more business. The Indian

Government initiatives of Make in India can definantely help Australian

manufacturers.  He also touched on India's growing needs of mineral

resources which Australia can fulfil.

 

    Amit Misra from Austrade highlighted the important role Austrade can

play in bilateral relations and organisations like AIBTF can fill in the

gaps where needed .

 

    Hon David Elliott emphasised NSW governments commitment to engage

more and more in Business with India and mentioning that Barry O'Farrell

,former Premier is the High Commissioner of India now . He also

mentioned about NSW business and trade office opportunity in India.

 

        The auction kicked off by Hon. David Elliott, who is also a

Patron in Police Legacy .AIBTF had raised funds for The Police legacy.

Policy legacy is a strong and compassionate ‘profit for purpose’

organisation providing services to police legatees and members of the

wider policy family across state.

 

 

        There were some amazing auction items displayed by the team

which included Lunch with Hon Alex Hawke, 3 Lunches with Hon David

Elliott, Lunch with CG Malta, ICC cricket Jersey, Cricket ball signed By

Sachin Tendelukar, Wine bottles signed by Premier Gladys Berejiklian and

Wine bottles signed by NSW Treasurer Dom Perrottet, weekend Trip to Gold

coast for 2  with a four Star hotel Accommodation . We had Stu Bension -

an amazing auctioneer and with his help AIBTF was able to raise over 

$22000 on that day .

 

      The evening was sponsored by Send fx, and co sponsored by Sharma's

Kitchen and Noru Pharma.

 

        The event ended with a panel discussion which included Consul

General of India Mr. Manish Gupta, Mr. Amit Misra & Mr. Jas Khara from

Aus Trade.
