Multicultural NSW welcomes new Advisory Board members

Multicultural NSW has welcomed three new members to its Advisory Board, each bringing unique expertise and strong community ties to ensure diverse voices are represented and reflected in public policy.

The three new appointees are:

  • Dr Julie Lim, a language teacher educator and researcher of Chinese heritage, committed to developing a deeper awareness of language needs and services. Dr Lim’s journey began with an interest in preserving heritage languages, a mission that has driven her work in bridging linguistic gaps in critical public services.
  • Ms Rosemary Kariuki OAM, a NSW Police Force Multicultural Liaison Officer celebrated for her extensive work with the African diaspora and communities across New South Wales. Ms Kariuki also sits on the Australian Multicultural Council advising the Commonwealth Government on Multicultural Affairs.
  • Mr Khushaal Vyas, a lawyer, social commentator and teaching fellow of Indian heritage, who is passionate about youth workers’ rights, brings extensive networks across the Indian community in New South Wales. Khushaal’s dedication to justice is rooted in personal experiences of community service and his commitment to empowering marginalised voices.

Additionally, current Advisory Board member, Mr. Ramneek Singh, a respected member of Sydney’s Sikh community has been reappointed for another term.
