Prospective homebuyers in NSW will soon have greater access to discounted pre-purchase inspection reports, with reforms announced today by Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Victor Dominello.
Mr Dominello said amendments to the Property Stock and Business Agents Regulation 2014 would help to reduce duplication of inspection reports, promoting peer-to-peer services that offer discounts to consumers.

Planning Minister Rob Stokes today welcomed figures showing a record $34 billion worth of construction was approved last financial year, driving economic growth and supporting jobs through a simpler, streamlined planning system.
Mr Stokes said the 2014-15 Local Development Performance Monitor showed over 90,000 approvals worth $34 billion were given in 2014-15, representing a seven per cent increase on last year’s figure of 84,000 approvals worth $29 billion.

Santa was on hand in Sydney’s west today as Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Victor Dominello announced a Christmas crackdown on the sale of dangerous toys.
Mr Dominello urged families to remain vigilant in the lead up to Christmas to make sure no potentially lethal toys made it under the tree this year.
“NSW Fair Trading inspectors have been hard at work in recent weeks, checking 773 businesses across the state and removed 83 types of non-compliant toys, detected in pre-Christmas checks,” Mr Dominello said.

Parramatta City Council will look to take five of its meeting out into its neighbourhoods in 2016 and create new Community Hubs in suburban centres, offering residents direct access to Council staff and services close to where they live.
Under the proposal put forward by Lord Mayor of Parramatta Cr Paul Garrard, the locations for the Hubs will be investigated as a matter of priority. A Neighbourhoods Policy will also be developed aimed at increasing Council’s connectivity with residents and businesses, and a cross-functional team will be created to promote initiatives that make our neighbourhoods more liveable.
