With an increasing number of star kids making their debut in the film industry, the spotlight has often turned to Nysa Devgn, daughter of Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Kajol. However, Kajol has now put all speculation to rest regarding her daughter’s entry into films.
Speaking at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2025, Kajol candidly addressed the ongoing buzz. “Bilkul nahi (Absolutely not),” she stated firmly. “I think she has made up her mind that she won’t be joining films right now. She’s turning 22 and has other plans.”
While Nysa is frequently seen at high-profile Bollywood parties, screenings, and social events, her presence has long been seen as a precursor to a potential film debut. However, Kajol’s comments make it clear that Nysa is charting a different path—at least for the time being.
When asked about advice for aspiring actors, Kajol offered a word of caution. “First of all, I would like to say—please don’t take advice from everybody,” she said. “Because if you ask people what you should do, a hundred people will tell you: change your nose, your hands, your hair color—do this, do that. Don’t let that noise influence your choices.”
On the professional front, Kajol is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Maa, a mythological horror drama directed by Vishal Furia. The first look of the film, released in March, showcases Kajol in a fierce and powerful avatar, portraying a mother protecting her daughter from dark forces.
Maa is slated for a theatrical release on June 27, 2025, and is already generating buzz for its unique genre and Kajol’s intense performance.
